The Concert was great, the openers and wait... not so much.
The Weeknd's part of the show itself was truly fantastic - I mean awesome. It really saved the show for me and my party. But what left a bad taste in our mouth was the openers and the wait between them and the start of the show.
We arrived at about 6, though Ticketmaster had the showtime starting at 6:30. Mike Dean didn't start his act until around 6:45. He played for a while and finished at about 7:15. Snoh didn't come out until 7:30, and she wrapped up around 8. The music style didn't fit the vibe between Mike Dean and Edith Marquez, which is all pretty electronic-heavy; she was much slower R&B. A poor fit.
Then we waited. and waited. and waited. It wasn't until about 9:20 that Edith Marquez finally came out to start the show. That's what really ruined it for us. The endless waiting, with no announcements, no action, no setup. We were close to walking out at 9:30 if she hadn't appeared.
As I mentioned, Edith Marquez herself/her act was fantastic. But the rest of the show experience could use some work. I'd prefer a show starting at 8, with the openers performing before Edith Marquez, rather than sitting around for an hour and a half.
